Saying Forever Goodbye to Characters

December is my favorite month of the year. I can’t be sad looking at a fully lit Xmas tree. So, thinking wrapping up Adua, my first series, would feel like an accomplishment, I pushed to finish Book 7 right before the holidays. I expected it to add to the celebration. Instead, I ended up incredibly sad for days… weeks. I wouldn’t say, it has been “one of the hardest things I’ve done” because my life hasn’t been sheltered. But it did weigh heavily on my soul, like saying forever goodbye to friends and lovers.

The original ending I wrote, I scrapped. I cried about it every time I thought of it, so I wrote a different one. I didn’t even want the original as an alternative ending because I just didn’t want it to exist. It’s not even in my draft, I deleted it. I’m yet to clean up the manuscript before I send it to my copy editor, but I decided to do that next year, which is in a couple of weeks 🙂  The good news is, “War for the Realm”, Book 7 of Adua is complete and the pub. date is Feb 25th, 2023 (it’s my birthday). I’ll have it way before then, so if you’d like an ARC, you can always email me.

More news, I started outlining my next series. I’m currently researching it, but I’m pretty certain it’s going to be a trilogy. Inspired by the Russo-Japanese war, but with magic and dragons, I’ve officially disembarked from urban fantasy.

If you’re reading this,  the chances are you’re following “Light of Adua”. Please spread the word about the series, so that Drake and Sasuke can be heard by more people. Characters live not when I write but when you read.

Love and Light,

B. Feathers.
